If yours is in not need of repairs, don't be afraid to do it yourself. This is from a '70 E-Body I had a few years ago. The disassembly is easy and self explanatory. Take pictures. (I even have the stamp for the yellow part number on the B-Body style.)

You are correct; L9 is November '69, which could be a good date code, although fairly late. I read the fine print in this ad, and it says "out of stock".

Carter 4738S. I just did a search and there's one on ebay, for over a grand, but it's dated F0 (June 1970), which would be way late for a Superbird. I don't know if you're into date codes, so I'm just pointing it out. If you are, you should be looking for something dated around H9, J9.
