A couple big decisions on my road runner restoration - help me decide.

So when you are having a tough time making a decision for yourself, no matter what it is, you NEVER ask anyone else (spouse, friends, family etc.) for their advice?

A couple big decisions on my road runner restoration - help me decide.

My Barracuda is a driver, granted only 1-2000 miles a year, but I rarely have to clean the seats and when I do it's just a quick spray and wipe.

A couple big decisions on my road runner restoration - help me decide.

I love my dogs and they ride in my Ram daily but will NEVER ride in my Barracuda or road runner.

`70 road runner, FC7, 383, 727 It`s waited long enough, finally time to get it done.

My first of what will be a few Day Two mods - longer shackles for a little old school rake. These are homemade ones that measure 5 1/4" long compared to the stock 3 1/2" ones so nothing too drastic. I'll see how it sits when put together and can always adjust if necessary.

Getting there, I have used 3.23 Sure Grip going in and currently cleaning up and blasting backing plates and drums.

A couple big decisions on my road runner restoration - help me decide.

I`ll do the discs, I while back I thought there were rotors that used the stock drum spindles and that would save me money, anyone know a source/manufacturer? I love my white interior in my Barracuda and also any color OTHER than black, to me black is boring/plain and it`s all too common. Yes...

A couple big decisions on my road runner restoration - help me decide.

I also love the white, my Barracuda came EV2 with white interior and I kept it that way, not much else was left stock.

A couple big decisions on my road runner restoration - help me decide.

This is pretty much exactly what I`m thinking. Are there still disc conversions that are not too expensive that bolt onto the drum spindles as that would save me some money and make the swap easier to make and undo, I don`t need anything fancy?

A couple big decisions on my road runner restoration - help me decide.

If you have been following along I`m working on a `70 road runner ( thread here- `70 road runner, FC7, 383, 727 It`s waited long enough, finally time to get it done. ) and I have a couple decisions to make. I am doing a 90% stock resto on it with a couple add ons like an air grabber hood and...

1970 road runner correct pinion snubber?

I had a 50/50 chance and blasted the wrong one, hence why I don`t gamble - I have no luck. No biggie I`ll just bead blast and paint the other one.

1970 road runner correct pinion snubber?

I have two different ones here but not sure which one ( or either ) is correct for my 8 3/4? Does it matter which plant and/or date? Mine is St Louis, December 1969.

`70 road runner, FC7, 383, 727 It`s waited long enough, finally time to get it done.

Since this isn't a "money no object" $100k restoration I deemed the original leaf springs ok to reuse for now, if I find they sag or are too soft once I get the car fully assembled I will either get them re-arched or just buy new ones at that point. I cleaned them up with an abrasive disc and...

'70 road runner, tapered bearings not tapered axles.

    Source for tapered axle bearings?

I guess tapered axle bearings could be taken several ways, Timkin calls them tapered roller berings.

Housing painted, waiting on bearings to show up, going to start clean up on the leaf springs.

    Source for tapered axle bearings?

Never mind on the foam gaskets - 2 diff, 4 foam and 4 metal. I dug them out of my spare gasket box, sometimes it's good to be a spare parts collector/ hoarder.

Thanks, I did a search but didn`t find what I needed, I`ll check out those threads.

    Source for tapered axle bearings?

Thanks guys, ordered from Rock Auto. I do need to try and remember E-booger sells some good stuff on e-bay. The only part I don`t have is the foam gaskets, anyone have a source for them?
