Yes.....THIS is what turned out to be the problem when I installed the famous "CrackedBack" headlightrelaykit a few months back. With the help of FBBO members, I found that the stock headlight door relay was in fact leaking just enough power to energize the aftermarket relays. I used a Bosch...
I just installed C.B.'s Plug & Play HeadlightRelayKit and now, for some reason, my headlight doors will not function. I cranked them open manually, but they won't close or do anything. Apparently, once you crank them open, they're open with no way (short of disassembly?) to close them. I'm...
That’s probably going to be a temp fix. I hope it isn’t but most likely
Magen I replaced the dimmer it stopped heating up then a few months later the connections are melted again, I just caved in and bought a headlightkitrelay that I haven’t installed yet but will this month coming up
Might be.
Ive already done the wipe / cleanup on the bulkhead connector. Also.... Removed and cleaned the lamp ground on the radiator support
But after leaving the lights on in both the Coronet and Satellite for near the same time frame. ( Keep in mind....on Both cars I just have simple...
just recieved and installed my headlightrelay bypass kit. very happy with quality and construction of this kit, also works great, true plug and play simplicity. had rob construct an a/c clutch cycling relay also. it was exactly what i wanted and hope to have it working in the near future.
...over the grounds etc. too, but other than the bulkhead connector I didn't see anything horrible. I decided to ordered the headlightrelaykit from "Crackedback" and finally got it installed on the 67. It fixed my problem with dim headlights, it also fixed the problem of poorly operating...
I always put my headlights on relays, I've been building my own kit for sometime, in fact I recently found a very nice compact relay setup that is pretty inexpensive but its size allows it to be mounted anywhere and its virtually hidden, contains 2 relays and 2 fuses.
My friend has a '62 Max Wedge Dart clone. He put a higher amp alternator in it and upgraded the charge circuit wiring gauge as suggested. The car is wired as per this diagram, with the ammeter bypassed. The charge wire between the alternator and starter is new 8 ga. with a 30 amp fuse in fuse...
Crackedback said that I could just leave everything in place with his charge wire, but I just wondered if there was more to be done. Does the larger wire just take more of the load?

Hello,
My first post in this section of the forum. I have a 67 Charger that has had dim headlights since 1999 when I bought it. I have checked grounds and I think the plugs on the back of the lights too and never found any issues. Could this problem be the bulkhead or a headlight switch...
A special shoutout to member Crackedback. I bought one of his headlightrelaykits and recently got around to installing it.
It is a perfectly produced product, I cannot begin to emphasis the quality and workmanship that went into making this
The instructions are excellent
My headlights are...
FYI for all intents and purposes the illumination part has nothing to do with the rotation of the headlights themselves.
Yes, it could be the ground but more likely it is the power side of the circuit.
As you probably know the relaykit will take the load off of your headlight switch.

...OEM location, I'll make them to any reasonable length on a custom basis. Give me the length of each wire and you'll get them right at that spec.
My shipping is never more than about $20 in the Con US. I sent a set of cables and a headlightrelaykit to Mass from California for $18, IIRC...
