Update, went to napa after work and bought a napa gold filter 1515
( made in USA ) on the lable still looks identical to the wix.
pulled the old , screwed on the new one dry as allways fired it up and pressure popped right up to normal. Top off the oil again.
Did the pump loose prime ?
Bad...
Here's an interesting excerpt from a similar story.

First off I am sure that WIX makes a great filter. So sure I put them on both my Cruisers. With that being said a faulty 51515 roached my 1FZ.

Luckily I had kept it and all its contents because when he looked at it he discovered the...
I just put 10w-30 in my 1969 383. I’m not sure what oil was in it before but I didn’t seem to have any issues. I hooked a mechanical gauge up and the line filled with oil and held 75 at cold temps. However, when the engine is cold now at idle I hold 28 pounds and the oil line to the gauge won’t...
What we’re working soon.. it’s got a bad oil pump. It cranks but the valves are clacking showing nooilpressure.. and it’s got metal shavings in engine.. so where going to pull and rebuild it.. give me something new to drive.. 5.7 Hemi..
19 page thread, were there any conclusions?
In the last year, Summit no longer carries the Wix filter. Strange that they would drop it.
I think they sell the race version that is marketed by Driven. I don’t get a warm fuzzy about it since the origin is a little cloudy.
My last couple of oil...
Now that I have my Dash all restored and calibrated I am going through the sensors to validate each plus the wiring. I have the Temp sensor all squared away plus its wiring resistance checked. Now am on the Oil Sensor. Wiring and ground are testing good but sensor is a bit erratic.

STP, Lucas and similar products are viscosity index improvers meant to guard against oil shear breakdown. Really important since anything with sprockets and chains has to deal with oil shear.
The days of using one oil in your daily, hot rod, lawn mower etc. are long gone.
My suggestion is to...
So I restored the AC system on the 69 Charger myself. I brought in an AC technician to check it out and charge it up.
So last weekend we pressure and vacuum tested the system. Everything is new or rebuilt. The system tested so no leaks once I found good quality R134 adapters and the right O...
I ran into that situation on a 350 SBC ages ago.
10/10 crank, std bearings.
Ran perfect, nonoise at all.
Normal-ish oilpressure on cold start, very very low pressure when warm.
If you are getting over 50 psi oilpressurenow then maybe the oilpressure problem is fixed. But I'm still not convinced you are setting the valves properly. You and I would think if you set the valves at TDC firing then the valves would be closed so that's fine right? No, that's not how you...
Air is drawn IN through the breather. Air is drawn OUT through the PCV by manifold vacuum. Since much of the crankcase volume is from blowby, just how much air is drawn through the breather is questionable. More often than not there is oil spray around the breather which would indicate there is...
Car is all original and the dash harness is in really good original condition, no splicing or anything. As mentioned, the dimmer switch was bought from a mopar guy who rebuilds them and it sat in my drawer for over a year while I worked on the metal. It’s dimming the dome and only dash light...
...block cleaning, they need to be removed. And after it's cleaned you need to make sure they're replaced. Otherwise you'll end up with nooilpressure. Also on the tool list: tap and die set. Or at the minimum, taps in the sizes needed for all of the threaded holes. Either before its tanked...
I'm running a rebuilt oil pump, stock replacement Melling parts, on my 440. When hot, oilpressure is around 13psi. It will hit 55psi when romping on it. No issues, no clattering. Deep sump pan with 10w-30. Never had the oil light even flicker, even when racing it.
...I had it ready to fire up today. My buddy and I worked on it Saturday and today and got the 440 engine running, only to find we had nooilpressure. I had tried priming it with my power drill, and foiund it only had a slight resistance when spinning CCW, and none when spinning CW. I know the...
...3.5 screen is working (they are on the same cable).
5. It doesn't stay running for more than a 30-45 seconds.
6. Biggest issue; NOOILPRESSURE... this is a brand new crate engine so I believe that its not a mechanical issue per se. I am running a remote oil filter and I removed that and...
Too high? Cold, no. What is warm idle pressure/45mph pressure? I like a 40-45lb idle warm, and 60-65 down the road. 75 at road speed wouldn't bother me.
That looks to be about a 7-8qt pan (+filter). I'd run 7qts, including filter. I would absolutely ignore the fill line on the dipstick.
The...
Hmm, never heard of the Gibbs before, but, I'll be happy to look into it. Being in PA, which the summers can get quite warm, I'm leaning towards 5 quarts of the 10w-30 (and no Lucas additive).
Seeing how I probably should use conventional vs. synthetic blend products, such as the Brad Penn /...
Unfortunately the key question in these situations is:
"Hmmm now what stupid thing did I do here?"
When you have the time elapse between starting and finishing it gets more likely.
When I started putting my engine back together a few years back I couldn't remember what I'd done with my...
