...So it was not used and I will be selling it.
So he was left with the damaged fender. After he took it off he was able to reshape it with dollies and hammers to what you see in the most recent photos. So far as I know he did not take off the inner fender. The hood lines between the hood and...
If you were in the US I would suggest a cheap qt. Cut off your panel and stash the rest.
I'm not aware if that section being sold as a patch panel.
You can build it , making a pattern with some light gauge late model car steel would help. Salvage yard fender ect. 24ga. Find one with close to...
At the place your are right now, a pair of good grinders 3" and 5" , also a 3" cut off tool. I prefer the long handle ones with the inline mount.
As you go on a decent body hammer with a flat pick on one end.
Heal dolly.
A decent 220 mig and gas bottle.
Just looking at the picture that...
Thanks for the update. You were lucky to have found a REAL body man who still knows his craft. If I had to guess, there's likely
a very small population of them left. Most of the guys I used to run with sadly died fairly young, a hazard of their working conditions.
Todays crowd seem to be only...
My cart was just a pair of car wheel dollies and some scrap steel.
The pegs were to slide up into the holes in the bottom of the K member to keep it from sliding off.
I used rubber cushions to reduce the risk of scratches.
...pounds of added weight plus Satellites are one of the heavier of those to begin with because of all the added trim and interior parts- console, bucket seats, pseudo rear bucket tops, etc.
When I had my Bel II 4D parts car on wheel dollies I could pretty much twirl it around like we were dancing.
Yes, gonna do the front end lift w back tires on ground. Will get 2 furniture dollies from HF and some 2x4's n some angle iron. I just wasn't sure how you get the assembly down to the dolly. But you don't, you use adjustments or built "up" to assembly. Then unbolt, raise front more and roll out...
I don't know. It was only done last week. I probably will wuss out and run the floor jacks over plywood. I am a little worried about the steel wheels biting into the coating. I was actually checking into those airbag jacks as an alternative. I don't have a car dolly yet, but I do need one...
Just received my I joist and 42’ header, I joist are 28’. Dam things are heave the header I just just put it on dollies. The header bracket I welded up fit perfect. Moving the joist is really a 2 man job but Pops saw them and his back started to hurt so he left. LOL funny how that works.
The best way would be to build in between the rafters, like putting in a skylite. You will have to build an extension on you existing roof line to aquire your height of lift at the lowest point of existing ceiling. If you put in the bigger garage door you will lose a lot of storage space at front...
...from the bottom. Only way to go, especially if you were rebuilding the front end anyway.
I also used a cherry picker to raise the front of the car and formed some crude wooden cutouts, perched on top of two furniture dollies to rest the drivetrain on. Took less than two hours for the install.
...to assist for stopping the additional weight. In the past, I've rented trailers and towed combined loads of over 4500 lbs I've rented tow dollies and dragged cars home, again...on flat ground.
Today I went to help a friend buy a '78 Dodge truck that had no engine but on the way there, I found...
...Self-Loading Dolly (harborfreight.com)
I have this set, which are a step up from the Pittsburgh ones, and they work very well. The Daytona dollies are rated for an 11" tire, but a 12" fits. The coupons and sales usually don't apply to the Daytona line, but these do go on sale from time to time.
...tops to MY height (I'm 6'4" and HATE bending over all the time), and bought some flat mid-gauge stainless skin. Love 'em.
Wheel skate dollies. The hydraulic foot-pedal roller-type, put them around the wheel like a fork, step on the pedal to squeeze the rollers together and pick up the wheel...
I have never liked those tow dollies. I would likely rent the trailer with the d150, then have a "problem" that required you to use the jeep.
(Le baron race car? What does it weigh?)
...seems to baffled by it lol , axle was free so just used box tubing and mounted it to stock k member spots in the frame , its a lot easier and safer for me to move the car around by myself getting on and off the trailer when needed vs casters . just put dollies under tires to turn it or floor jack
