Great looking Satellite!! Even has the hard to find original grill. Nice catch and I"m sure it's just as pre all around too. I've had my '65 Satellite for over 50 years and yes it survived my youth. Truly fun cars.

P5153525 Mopar Performance Manifold - Why is it not available anymore??

Thanks again for all your help. I sincely appreciate it. I did order the Edelbrock and am in the process now of installing it with the new AVS2. Should make a nice street car that can have its way with the tires. :-)

P5153525 Mopar Performance Manifold - Why is it not available anymore??

Thanks again you guys for taking your time to respond to my questions here. It didn't dawn on me Mopar Performance and Chrysler/Fiat connection. Who'd ever think to have those two names together but that is where we are today. Also BeepBeepRR your correct but they only keep your information...

P5153525 Mopar Performance Manifold - Why is it not available anymore??

Like many folks on this forum I too have been looking for almost a year now for this Mopar Performance manifold for my 65 Satellite. I'm about ready to order the Edelbrock out of desperation but I truly would like the Mopar manifold on my old school Plymouth. I just thought I would ask all...

WTB Mopar Performance Aluminum Dual Plane Intake Manifold Part Number: 312-P5153525

I've been trying to buy one of these for almost year now and I gather they are on indefinite backorder. I know the Edelbrock is almost the exact same thing but I really want the "Mopar" version for my 65 Plymouth Satellite. I'm posting around one more time to try and find one of these before I...

Retiring The Six Pack - New Manifold Recommendations

Great point. I have the Mopar "purple shaft" in the engine. The factory cam so I'm thinking the factory manifold now would probably be a good fit. A little side story, as I was growing up and grudge racing this car on the weekends It's had lots of parts put in it from solid lifter cams, a...

Retiring The Six Pack - New Manifold Recommendations

From my rearch the Performer RPM has a power band of 1500 to 6500. While the Mopar Performance P5153525 is advertised to have a curve of idle to 6000. While they look the same there must be some difference.

Retiring The Six Pack - New Manifold Recommendations

Thank you for your response. That is truly the direction I'm leaning towards. Off idle response to 4000 on the street is where I'm going. The days of the 1320 are gone for ever for me. ;-) The Mopar Performance Manifold seems to be the best choice.

Retiring The Six Pack - New Manifold Recommendations

I have a factory version of the CH4B but I want something upgraded and new. I have the hood clearance and I'm leaning toward the Mopar Performance version of the Performer as the power curve is advertised to be idle to 6000 and that's where this engine will spend the rest of it's life with this...

Retiring The Six Pack - New Manifold Recommendations

After over 45 years of having a fully operational Six Pack on my 65 Satellite with a 426 Wedge I want to simplify my life and put a single four barrel on it. I don't race the car anymore and it's just an old street show car with lot's of fun parts to cruise to a show. But I'm looking at the...

    Rechrome Cragar S/S Wheels

From what I gather is that Cragar cast a steel strip into the aluminum center. This strip of steels is then welded to the steel wheel. Now after talking to the guys at Stockton Wheel apparently the outside rig of the aluminum center is a tight fight to the steel rim so the weight transfer of...

    Rechrome Cragar S/S Wheels

Thank you gentlemen for your comments!! To say I'm pleased is an understatement. When I first got this car it was my daily driver and the wheels got all sorts of abuse from the weather and elements. I used to live in the SF Bay Area with the salt air there too and it was a problem for...

    Rechrome Cragar S/S Wheels

Well gentlemen, I'm excited to report that after five and a half months I got my wheels back and they are better then new. The wheels were disassembled so the aluminum centers could go in one process and the steel wheels would go to another. The quality of the chrome AND the welds is...

    TUNING A SIX PACK

I could not agree more Bob! The old iron, big engines with big pistons and long strokes make gross power the old fashion way. The new stuff is very cool as to how it works all the time in heat or cold but our old iron is truly what we want to see in a car show. The cookie cutter chrome and...

    TUNING A SIX PACK

Just a little thought on "our" Six Packs. When they work there is nothing like it. Usually they work well all the time but when they give you fits they can really be a heart ache! I have two Chrysler products with Six Packs on them and there is nothing that gets the ooh's and ahh's like this...

    TUNING A SIX PACK

Great idea and really nice excution of that idea. Years ago I took a small "flex" screwdriver and welded on a little tip as you have here and it was clumsy and hard to use but what you did is a really nice idea and I may try to duplicate it for my own use.

    Rechrome Cragar S/S Wheels

Current update: I delivered the wheels to the Stockton Wheel Works facility and also got a nice tour of their shop. They are definitely in the business. They are very famililar with this wheel and have done this many times before. The only risk that they explained to me is that after they cut...

    Rechrome Cragar S/S Wheels

That's a great point about the oxidation that I didn't think about and I'll let the plater make the call. The old chrome has to be stripped off and maybe they will deal with that oxidation that is present at that time. Trust me I've been looking for a good set of wheels for years it seems...

    Rechrome Cragar S/S Wheels

I have looked at them and compared and the wheel design is different as they are not a "reversed" wheel only a deep offset. Plus they are unilug and my wheels are predrilled. So there truly is no easy way to get out of this. The wheels have to match and for old car nuts like myself "we" see...
