    Motivation?

Cranky, I'm 49 almost 50, so I guess I'll use that as an excuse!:hello2: 69chargerboy, that sounds like a great plan, I'm just tired of seeing it sideways on the rotisserie. Trying to finish an 83 El Camino has not made it any easier, yeah I know, I just heard all the "ughs"!!LOL!!

    Motivation?

What do some of you do when the "restoration motivation" begins to fade? LOL!! I'm too far along to throw in the towel and watching the numerous TV show about cars has helped a lot, but doggone, it gets hard to make yourself "get busy" sometimes. Just venting a little!!

    1/4 Patch suggestons

My 66 Coronet 2dr Ht has rust above the left rear wheel opening. The rust goes up about 4" and is about 12" front to rear. Looking for suggestions as to where the best place is to buy patch panels for this area. I know there are several places that sell them, just looking for the best option...

Update on 66 Coronet 2dr HT

coronet340, believe it or not, my son (23 years old) has never been interested in cars. Old cars and hotrods have never impressed him, but, fixing, restoring and just staying busy is what drives him. I hope he enjoys spending time with me as much as I enjoy having him help me. I let him have a...

Update on 66 Coronet 2dr HT

This is a beautiful sight to behold!!! Removing the undercoating, adding additional welding and trying to decide whether to spray bed liner or undercoating. Needle scaler is doing wonders as well as a thick putty knife and hammer. At 49 years old, this is a lot easier than laying on my back!!

    Sandblast?

I used the needle scaler on the outside of the inner fenders, and yes it worked great. It is time consuming though so that is why I asked about sandblasting the underside. I will continue to use the needle scaler, thanks to those who responded with helpful suggestions.

    Sandblast?

I've got the body ready to put on the rotisserie. My 66 Coronet 440 2dr HT has the usual amount of undercoating. Is it safe to sandblast the underside? I have heard of metal heating up and warping and I do not want that to happen. I do NOT have the money to pay somebody to media blast it for...

    U-Bolt size

I am using the factory springs. Thanks for the info. Is this what you mean by flat top? I'm a little confused on the size wedge69 mentioned, can you clarify what the measurements are? Thanks

    U-Bolt size

When breaking down the rear suspension, some of the u-bolts broke when we tried to get the nut off so we cut them off. Like an idiot, I threw away the pieces. I need to know what size u-bolts I need for a 66 Coronet 440 2Dr HT, stock parts on the rear end.

CAN IT BE SAVED ? Any 1 have luck getting parts replaced ??

Fed-Ex delivered a full floor pan from AMD (Tamraz) and the driver had me open the box before I signed the receipt. Of course if you did not see any damage to the box, anyone would assume the part inside was okay. My box was taped together as if it had to be made to fit my floor pan and it...

    craigslist****key words

Being in law enforcement, I use the Urban Dictionary a good bit to stay up on the current slang. Below is a definition from the Urban Dictionary. 1. donk a very round, attractive ghetto syle booty derivation: shortened form or badonkadonk "damn, i wanna hit that fine donk." I...

    craigslist****key words

I know there are such things as "barn finds" out there. I do not deny that and I know some people on the forum have probably really found their car in a barn or field. But, has anyone noticed that a lot of the old cars that are for sale on craigslist have the words "barn find" in the ad? It...

    Making progress!

6speedgtx, what kind of prep work did you do on the engine bay before putting the finish color on it? I'm at that point now and would like any advice. 66 Coronet 440 2dr HT; 318 Poly

Update on 66 Coronet 2dr HT

charger66coronet, I checked into the media blasting, but I live in a rural area and the quotes I got were too expensive by the time I hauled it to where they were. If you don't mind, I will add you to our prayer list at church. If had not been for the Lord, my wife and kids and the many...

    Upholstery kits vs Professional job

If any of you have looked at my restoration thread, you will know that I have a long way to go, but I like to find out all the info I can. What is the advantage of buying a seat upholstery kit from a supplier vs having a local upholstery shop sew and install new seat covers etc? I plan on...
