Alignment issues - QA1 Camber bolts

I had a photo of it, but can’t seem to find it now. Had two guys working on it together on the rack, doing all they could to get it back to zero camber. But as I recall, the harder they tried to fix it, the caster would get messed up? Or vice versa? I was watching the whole process and he...

Alignment issues - QA1 Camber bolts

My thoughts was maybe the Qa1 eccentric bolts had larger washer to give more adjustment? I could be completely wrong though.

Alignment issues - QA1 Camber bolts

Hey guys, Needing a little help here or suggestions. My 68 Satellite has been to the alignment shop 3 times now since rebuilding the suspension and replacing all bushings. Car continues to eat front tires on the inside tread. My local shop has spent a lot of time on the rack trying like hell...

    A833 identification

Thank you for taking the time to break that down for me. Never gotten to take one apart to see for myself. Question, if this trans came out of a B/E body, what is the difference for A-body other than shifter locations? Is there any size/length difference? Could it be put into an A-body?

    A833 identification

Could you dumb this down for me? I’ve never installed a 4 speed and not even close to knowing all the necessary order of components in install. What is the purpose of this pilot bearing and bushing? Im trying to visualize everything to understand what parts are working together.

    A833 identification

I haven’t counted it yet. So 23 is small block and 18 is big block? I don’t know anything about these hardly.

    A833 identification

Hey guys, Picked up what I believe to be a 1970 4-speed, but I don’t know what it came out of, or if it’s possible to identify that. The photos below is all I’ve taken so far. Just curious if its identifiable by the ID pad. It shifts thru all gears smoothly and clean inside. My buddy has had...

    Starter Removal with (Hooker?) headers

I would have gladly removed the header to save me some time and headache. I had already drained the coolant. But you see, thanks to the studs, not bolts, the header couldn’t be removed because the studs are so long that the header is trapped against the steering column upon attempted removal. I...

    Starter Removal with (Hooker?) headers

Well for anyone that cares to know or is following along the post, the final results of these (Summit?) Headers, I could not remove the starter in one piece. I disassembled it inside the header into 3 pieces. I couldn’t install the new 440 Source mini starter either. Tried from below, tried...

    Starter Removal with (Hooker?) headers

I have 5 studs and 1 bolt on cylinder 3 for some reason. I took it out to try to remove header, and spilled coolant everywhere. Not sure why I'm missing a stud.

    Starter Removal with (Hooker?) headers

Thats very possible! I didn’t buy these, previous owner did. I couldn’t find a brand name on them. I have power steering, and there was no room at all to remove it. I finally decided to disassemble the starter inside the header. I ordered a mini starter from 440 source to replace it. Im...

    Starter Removal with (Hooker?) headers

Guys, Anyone gotta tips or tricks to getting this starter out? Im trapped in every direction I go. Ive unbolted all the studs and from header extension, only bolt left is in front of cylinder 3 and it sprayed coolant everywhere. Should’ve known that was gonna happen. I only have about a inch...

    440 power steering problems. Replacement?

Having problems with my pump and pulley alignment. Also the cars feel while driving is very sensitive. My car was originally a 318 P/S car, and then was swapped in a ‘68 440. Im not educated enough on these to know if this is even the correct pump/bracket/pulley assembly. The pulley is 1/4 inch...

    7290 yoke - Dust shield/cover?

Im ordering one of these. I emailed Cass the picture of my yoke and he said to order a sleeve. Thanks guys!

    7290 yoke - Dust shield/cover?

Well I don’t think Cass at Doctor Diff would send me the wrong seal in a prepared packaged kit. He is probably one of the leading suppliers of 8 3/4 and Dana 60 parts. It just seemed like the seal wasn’t that tight of fit.

    7290 yoke - Dust shield/cover?

I have a 7290 yoke that is missing the seal shield off of it. My reason for concern is the new seal from Dr Diff doesn’t fit that tightly around the yoke. So I’m afraid to continue forward with rebuild without some feedback. Seems like that shield has kind of a sleeve on the shaft that might be...

    489 pinion shim depth. Help!

Hey guys, I bought a empty 489 case to rebuild to replace my 741 (2.76). This is my first ever rebuild of a center section. I bought everything from Cass at Doctor Diff. Sure-grip, 3.55s, the whole kit. But my problem is I followed a instructional video on YouTube of how to rebuild one. Guy...

    1968 Sport Satellite Grille color

I actually have some extras left over. They aren’t exact matches to the fins, but if you’re willing to take the time on a tedious project, you can make them match. They’re a touch large.

    1968 Sport Satellite Grille color

Can anyone tell me the proper paint color of the SS/GTX grille? Ive heard its two different colors. The car is just a driver, its not a fancy resto job. I just wanted to know if theres a proper color before I paint the entire thing Argent Silver. I just got done replacing about 5 fins in it...
