    Did you get a photo of the mesh pattern when you purchased the pig? Gear whine upon load or unload is a problem with ring and pinion mesh/improper set-up. And no lube can make it correct. Mike

    If you have a crush sleeve style 489 it will disturb the pinion bearing preload. 741/2 no issues. Just make sure to torque it properly. Ther are plenty of threads on site you can research on this topic. Mike

    I believe the "green bearing" tag was because of the green grease seals used originally on the bearings. They were ball bearings. Some disc kits needed the fixed rotor position they provided; others did not, so the OEM tapered design would work. Mike

    There is no endplay in a ball bearing but, a tapered roller must be adjusted for proper life, hence the OEM adjustable retaining plate on one side (right side). Left is fixed. Tapered roller bearings are optimal for side thrust, balls are meant for radial thrust with light side thrust Mike

    You do not need these unless you switch back to tapered roller bearings, it appears someone already installed the green bearings. If you are referring to the casting to axle housing nuts, they are 3/8"NF. Oem are locking as I recall but, straight thread nut will do the job. Any common grease...
