Interesting seeing this same drop as Chevy did the same thing dropping compression to 8.5:1 in 1971. It was an industry wide thing apparently for new epa laws.They purposely detuned them by lowering the compression then loweing the factory advance to like 8-12°. I had a 1971 Corvette with a LS5...
