So Powermaster is wrong? Do it your way then. Powermaster is protecting the entire vintage vehicle just in the event someone does not sort out the original issue and keeps adding accessories to the system that was not designed for all that load.

Many moons ago, I used 5/8" rebar and a 3/8"nut to build a tube driver. I drilled out the threads with a 3/8" drill bit and welded it on the rebar. After it cooled I carefully cut a 3/8" slot in the nut. It was straight but I loaned it out and it was modified by the borrower, still works though...
