    Took the Plunge EV

315 miles so far, good. Had it in a rain storm, the front spoiler deflects the rain barely had to have the wipers on. Just washed it for a car show tomorrow, Pleasure to wash smooth flowing lines no jagged edges sticking out any where.

    over-center spring

Great info and I truly mean it. Now go do a 5500 rpm power shift and make sure the pedal doesn't stick to the floor! I don't care how valuable the car is, we all let them go from time to time. But blowing up engines is no fun..

Tie rod sleeve turns when tight.

Yeah those are different from factory... not split the whole lengthwise

    over-center spring

OK, well...I may take some heat from this post but I don't really care. I'm not here to fight or argue. I'm here to hopefully give advice that may help someone someday. Someone had put a diaphragm clutch in my car (before I bought it) and left the OC spring in. I didn't have any problems but...

Tie rod sleeve turns when tight.

That could very well be. Most of the stuff the prior owner did was in 2018 and the estate didn’t know anything about the car. That’s what he put in. Yup. As you can see, I can’t tighten it anymore. And it still turns, no effort.

What's the best way to clean out the freeze plug water jackets on a big block?

There's absolutely no way that you can reach all of the dead-end corrosion and debris traps with a probe Do it right and have the block hot tanked.

Drivers side remote mirror, different mounts on B Body?

I've used the SAE trick since I first heard about it. Tilt your head all the way to the left (almost touching glass.) Adjust the driver's mirror so you  just see the side of the car in the right side of the mirror. Tilt your body all the way to the right the same amount. Adjust passenger mirror...

    Is this block junk?

I wouldn't be to concerned about it. Lots of racers are running on skirts that have been ground away more than that minor issue. As, zyzzyx stated above, smooth out the rough edges and use it. Tom

Suggestions wanted for QUIET good flowing mufflers (sleeper build)?

Consider, normally ICE are considered in the 33% efficiency range for fuel consumed, that also normally means approx 1/3 is basically lost as heat, radiator, radiant, etc. 400 Hp at FW gives off the same amount energy in waste heat and the same third in acoustic energy out the exhaust. As a side...

    Is this block junk?

Blend the sharp edges down and it'll be fine. As stated before, you're not into the water jacket. I wouldn't sleeve it.
