I have a 67 Charger, and the calipers and pads used for the kit that was put in by the prior owner, are from a 79 and up Dodge Aspen. I never thought about the spindle effecting wheel alignments. I just wonder if they use a spindle for a 79 Aspen. :BangHead: Now you gave me more **** too...
440, Manual steering, A833, Dana- I’ve used SAE 80-90 in trans, and diff (with limited slip friction), but didn’t have manual steering.
Confirming all three can use same multi-purpose gear oil weight. Service manual indicates yes.

I wouldn't leave it off the whole time.
Just untill it starts flowing and you can make sure the core is covered with water.
Then cap it off because it may boil a couple minutes after you shut it off at atmoshperic pressure.
With the cap on it still may gurgle in there but it won't be a safety...
Your + Positive battery cable has a heavy wire going to the starter and a smaller maybe 10 AWG wire that goes to the heavier stud on the starter relay.
This stud has a fusible link which powers everything inside the car.
For some reason you've probably lost power to that stud. (It may show...

1) get the steering box centered
Turn the wheel from one lock to the other while counting the turns.
Now turn back half way.
Look at the coupler - you should see the indexing spline at the top.
The steering wheel should now be straight as well.
