If you go blast method, I learned a trick many years ago. Wear a 55 gallon trash bag. Keeps the grit out of your hair/eyes/nose etc plus covers up most of your torso. Put a couple of tears in for your arms to stick through. You can see through them fine.

You have to know what plant the '62 was manufactured. Each plant uses different locations on the alphabet line for their codes.

My answers only relate specifically to your highlighted line. Which begs the question, if you want "assembly line", why the paint & suspension inquiry ? If this is not a "rare" model, I would do BC/CC and upgrade suspension in certain areas.
