I'm looking at a 63 Belvedere SW this week. I don't think the owners knows much about the car. There's no motor in it. Anyway to tell a /6 K from a V8? If it is a 6, does anybody make the /6 to BB swap?
Many of the examples of air flow diverters posted, work well when you want to achieve the most power, ET and MPH. They don't always work so well when you need to run a specific number like a dial in. Anything that causes the air to be turbulent causes pressure changes in the carb itself and...
I have an opportunity for a 62 and the 69. Knowing how the Dart is very tight with headers and 111 wheelbase the 62 seems to be a better build. Just need to be certain of the weight before a make a choice.
I looked in the NHRA specs for the weight of '62 Belvedere with 413 3179 and a 383 is lighter yet. Is this a good weight or a factory/NHRA wink wink weight? That big body weights less than a '69 Dart 440?
Looking at a Belvedere online and own says C10 discs on front and S10 on back. I've seen the S10 conversion but the C10? Is this a legitimate swap? Car still has the torsion bars.
I was actually thinking to buy a shorter front segment from Calvert/CalTrac system and then move the rear shackle 1" forward. I want a 1" shorter wheelbase.
I know it was done with the AWB cars. Simple wheelbase change is to get shorter front leaf spring segment. 1" shorter do-able on a '65 Belvedere w/o incurring any body issues or other things?
