    383 low oil pressure

I ran into that situation on a 350 SBC ages ago. 10/10 crank, std bearings. Ran perfect, no noise at all. Normal-ish oil pressure on cold start, very very low pressure when warm.

    71 Charger Superbee Tribute/Restomod Build

...3.5 screen is working (they are on the same cable). 5. It doesn't stay running for more than a 30-45 seconds. 6. Biggest issue; NO OIL PRESSURE... this is a brand new crate engine so I believe that its not a mechanical issue per se. I am running a remote oil filter and I removed that and...

    383 low oil pressure

I'm running a rebuilt oil pump, stock replacement Melling parts, on my 440. When hot, oil pressure is around 13psi. It will hit 55psi when romping on it. No issues, no clattering. Deep sump pan with 10w-30. Never had the oil light even flicker, even when racing it.

    Help no spark

Unfortunately the key question in these situations is: "Hmmm now what stupid thing did I do here?" When you have the time elapse between starting and finishing it gets more likely. When I started putting my engine back together a few years back I couldn't remember what I'd done with my...

New Engine Build - Low Oil Pressure Problem

If you are getting over 50 psi oil pressure now then maybe the oil pressure problem is fixed. But I'm still not convinced you are setting the valves properly. You and I would think if you set the valves at TDC firing then the valves would be closed so that's fine right? No, that's not how you...

    Oil recommendation

I run VR1 straight 30 in the winter and straight 40 in the summer in my 400 with 140k miles, it likes it. No cold start issues, builds 80 pounds idling cold and 20 idling hot. From my experience 10w30 is too thin for a stock big block, the oil pressure drops to 0 on hard launches when it's too...

Did I just burn out my voltage limiter in the instrument panel?

Yeah…. If I had one. Mopar Action had an article years back…Ehrenberg had two AA batteries in series he used to test gauges. I can’t find any damaged wires. I pulled the bulkhead plugs and cleaned them with DeOxit and a wire brush. They got blown out and filled with dielectric grease. No...

2019 5.7 crate engine not building oil pressure - Need some G3 Hemi gurus

I "think" it is there but won't know until I pull the pan which I am not looking forward too, its a pretty tight fit.

    Bummer! No oil Pressure

...I had it ready to fire up today. My buddy and I worked on it Saturday and today and got the 440 engine running, only to find we had no oil pressure. I had tried priming it with my power drill, and foiund it only had a slight resistance when spinning CCW, and none when spinning CW. I know the...

    Oil pressure

I think the answer to your question is no. The priming oil pressure will not reflect operating oil pressure, if that is your question.

Stock Dual Snorkel 440 Air Cleaner on 74 Roadrunner

Doesn’t the breather exhaust to the air cleaner, under positive pressure versus a vacuum on the PCV. I would think the breather has more chance of getting oil vapors into the air cleaner. This is what I needed to know as well. If they fail open, then I don’t need cold start warm up, but I do...

New 360 build with oil leaking into coolant

Hi guys. Have another build on the go. This time a 360 LA 72 block. Without all the details, some brief history is as follows. 10.5:1 KB, all new and machined parts. Block is one that I've had kicking around for some 10+ years. Originally it had 8:1 and mild cam. Was a short block for sure as...

New Engine Build - Low Oil Pressure Problem

Had similar issues ..... but my engine was Dyno run .... so I thought it was ready to go. When I started it there was a delay of pressure to reach the mechanical gauge but had good pressure. First power run ....gauge went to Zero. Shut engine off on a 4th to 3rd power shift ... got good...

    PCV valve hose goes???

EDIT for correction - no vent holes under cap - On mine I've got a valve cover PCV valve cap like this (with a vacuum hose connecting the PCV 90-degree nipple to manifold vacuum): Compared to this, what's the added benefit of placing the breather on one valve cover and the PCV valve on the...

Engine bay is kinda busy looking, but no way around it. I'll work on getting it neater after it's running. Next is to crank it over to check for spark, then reprime the oil pump and check oil pressure. Also install new valve cover gaskets & hardware

I’m not trying to be a ********, but you didn’t learn about the importance of a working oil pressure gage.

    Garage Floor Finish

I used a sealer on mine and I have to say that I really screwed up by doing that. It looked great at first, all shiny over the burnished and light gray dyed concrete. The problem is that oil etc gets through the sealer and than you can't get the oil stain out. I should have used some sort of...
