Happy Birthday! I don't know you but I certainly have read many of your posts...especially electrical ones commenting on ammeter bypasses! :poke:

Where to connect a spade for key-on ignition in fuse block, '70 Charger

Guys, I need to connect a few spade connectors to the back of my fuse block for a tach and voltmeter to come on when key is "on", but not to "start". I tried searching for the relevant blue IGN 1 wire under the dash but the wire schematic diagram has me confused and I couldn't find a wire I...

Tire and Wheel Change on my Charger

I think those wheels look too much like the ones used on Ford rally cars back in the day, such as the Escort RS1800 and old Austi Mini's:

1970 Charger rear tail light/brake light orientation?

Wouldn't you need 1157's if you wanted all 3 bulbs on each side to shine brighter when the brakes or signals are happening? Single filament bulbs only have one brightness.

1970 Charger rear tail light/brake light orientation?

Nice idea to use one wire.

1970 Charger rear tail light/brake light orientation?

I'm considering swapping the single filament inner bulbs and sockets with some dual-contact sockets and 1157's, hoping that would get all 3 bulbs on each side to flash on when signaling or braking. Has anybody else done that mod?

    Grendel lives...resurrection of a 1970 Charger 500

Since I had to pull the steering wheel to install a "new" leather wrap that I had sitting in my parts stash for 15+ years, I had a look at the steering wheel innards. Things were pretty grungy in there, so I gave it a spray with cleaner and carefully scrubbed everything with a soft paintbrush...

    LS swap ?

Slapping Chebbie V8's in a Buick Grand National to swap out the Turbo V6, another common swap, gives me the same upchuck taste in my mouth.

Dash wiring upgrades, Ammeter bypass, Dakota Digital guage cluster install...

I also noticed the position of your gas pedal to the heel pad was similar to mine. The way my ACC carpet was molded, there was no way in hell I could've positioned it so the gas pedal would've been in the "correct spot" at the top right corner of the heel pad. I would've had to shove the carpet...

Dash wiring upgrades, Ammeter bypass, Dakota Digital guage cluster install...

I just had an epiphany reading this old topic...nearly everyone talks about needing to drop the steering wheel to R & R the instrument panel, when all you need to do is pull the steering wheel. D'oh! I wish I saw this topic weeks ago when I pulled my instrument panel, I wouldn't have had to...

Almost afraid to share another ammeter bypass question...

I probably could've worded that post better. I meant that the ammeter would be non-functional. The voltmeter would be replacing it, and would be functional. :)

Pics from Back in the Day

Yeah, that smoke is coming from a grass fire, not the side pipes...not to mention the fact the rear wheels are perfectly in focus and not motion-blurred...

Almost afraid to share another ammeter bypass question...

Thanks for all the input, guys. My wiring is in better condition than I expected, my bulkhead connectors look very good (I have all this depicted in my project thread), I no longer have a stereo or alarm system, I'm using LEDs in the dash and console and may swap in some more, and my ammeter...
