I agree with going for the Borgeson steering gear since you already have the Borgeson pump. I have heard the Borgeson pump needs to have the pressure toned down a bit if using with a stock steering gear. It will work perfectly with the Borgeson gear.

I bought a cooler from BAC when ordering a Borgeson box from them. Works a treat even with the factory pump on a '72 Satellite.

A good rebuilt original mopar box is not terrible but still nowhere near as responsive as a Borgeson unit. Yeah, it isn’t cheap but it is a definite improvement.

I've heard this before. It seems to be a characteristic that many of them have. Functionally, the Borgeson unit is excellent. The noise they make is considered normal.

I just ordered one of those coolers too off of Amazon. Wanted to have that on hand, plus a pair of filters, for when I can put the Borgeson box/pump from BAC on the wagon.

Did you buy the pump from Borgeson directly? I literally just went though this same situation. Installed the Borgeson box + pump and same results, drives great when cold and then after it warms up, the steering gets hard a low speeds. Added a cooler, nothing. Changed fluids 3-4 times, nothing...

I remember you. You used to post over at the Charger forum. I haven't seen you over there in awhile. Didn't we chat about the Borgeson steering box and an overdrive transmission? I go through points where I am not so motivated. It helps to have friends around that have old cars like me.

The earlier boxes use smaller diameter mounting bolts. I made bushings when I installed the borgeson box.
