I put the Holley RetroBright headlights on my daily driver 69 Corvette. Yes, I think they are stupid expensive for a headlight bulb, but then again, if they save me from hitting one deer or help me see better and drive safer, then they are worth every dime.
On my Corvette, I only replaced the...
...I decided I would just move the light to the unused socket and live with that.
Somehow along the way, got the idea of installing LEDbulbs thinking heat build up would be gone. Go figure, when I put the LED bulb in the burned socket it WORKED. There’s more about how this worked using an LED...
Thanks davek. No joy. I'm a bit confused because my FSM shows the hazard flasher to be a two prong unit but the one in the car has three prongs. I have found a couple of three prongs online that come with a ground wire but I have no idea if they will work or not.
Personally, I think it looks stupid having 2 different colored headlamps....on my GTX (RS23V0A******), I want the BRIGHTEST (max lumins) so I've switched to 6000°F LED CONVERSION units with clear glass headlamps......after years ago, almost hitting a deer on a blacktop road without any exterior...
I adjust the amount that the lens darkens but it is the time before the weld begins where I have trouble seeing since the lens already shades a little before darkening. If I have nearby sunlight, I am fine. I'm even okay in shaded areas...it is after sundown wity only the overhead LED florescent...
I am looking to convert my taillights to led. I ordered my bulbs from Superbrightleds and the bulbs work for the 1st light and for the reverse lights but the center light does not work.
The bulbs I ordered were these, which work in bulb location 1 and flash when i use the turn signals. When in...
I don't know about "less", but /6Dan's on point...I put some of those 'retro-fit' LEDs in mine and didn't notice any difference at all.
I'll be following this one!
the superbright claim to be dimmable.
they are unlike any other ledbulbs ive seen.they look just like the originals even the glass covering.
the only difference is the element inside looks different.
i did test one to see if they are reversible and they are not though.
Just now starting to inspect lighting on this vehicle I bought a year ago. Service Manual says flashers are to right of steering column in brackets mounted to ash tray housing. NOT! On underside of passenger side dash in clip-on holders. Pretty sure these are them (pics). Per Service...
I've just installed LED headlamps in my 1970 Chrysler 300 and have issues with the headlamp doors as well. Things worked fine when I plugged the old hi/low bulb back in on the drivers side and all the rest were LED. Can you supply details as to the resistor I need and where it should be placed...
I still use C9 incandescents for my outside Christmas lights because I like their warm glow a lot better than LED. We do use LED on the tree and I like them there. Yes, I do see an increase in my electric bill when we put the outside lights up, but it's only about a 5-6% increase for a month so...
I went down to my local electrical supply house, told them what I had. They had all I needed in bulk and was within a couple of dollars of Menards price. All I had to do was remove the ballast and hook the wires together, pop the tubes in.
I just ordered and installed LEDbulbs in the tail lights of my 64 Fury
I have looked for some time to find LED lights that are bright. Had some from NAPA that were not any brighter then regular 1157 bulbs.
These are from superbrightleds.com.
I will order more for my other cars. I am only...
