(Happened to me and the 70' Superbee 2005)
Yes it’s all finished. It turned into a really big project. It requires a lot more modifications to install one of these transmissions in a 73-74 due to the torsionbar crossmember being in the way. That crossmember needs to be removed and the chassis needs to be modified so the bars mount into...
I have been getting a different vibration than the one I just dealt. It ended up being the driver side header rubbing on the driver side torsionbar. We forced the exhaust over and got more clearance and the vibration is gone. Good luck.
It's only greased, when you install the bars...both hex ends. One time deal. Keeps 'em from turning into rusted junk. Those hexes go through a lot of strain, lube lets 'em work.
I installed a new set of torsionbars on my 69 Bee. Left side went fine, on the right side the bar did not slide in all the way to it's normal resting point. Upon further inspection I found a gap between the LCA bushing and the K frame. I tried loosening the strut bar, jacking it up, tapping on...
The 1.03" bars that we offer are designed with a 20 degree clocking or preload. I believe the sway away are flat-flat or zero clocked. You may want to ask them. We had had this design at one point as it was directed more towards the pro-touring and lowered crowd. You can attain stock ride height...
My wife and I were actually "extras" on an episode of Big Easy Motors. They had contacted us through a friend of mine who has a beautiful 70 Roadrunner, and we discussed the possibility of being in the show.
They used her GTO as one of about 4 cars parked outside their shop in the street as they...
It’s been over 4 months since I’ve driven my car, but as I recall the Borgeson steering feels kinda similar to the power steering in my 2001 Accord Coupe.
As in tight and modern.. There are no “dead spots”. No steering with one finger, not enough assist for that. No little corrections needed...
I've got a bent strut rod that's throwing off alignment.
Question is can I remove AND install a new one without removing the torsionbar and LCA?
Thanks,
Patrick
I have a rebuilt heater/defroster unit that I can install but for now, I might loop the fittings on the water pump housing.
I sandblasted the fan clutch....I found one in the stash that is OEM and still functional. I have several fans to choose from. Some 5 blade, some 7. I've ran both on Ginger...
without weight and or relieving the torsionbar and the removal of the sway bar....you only working at a preset unladed condition given you still have your upright (spindle) in place and ball joints firmly attached.....you should be able to continue the install....now if you need to swap out the...
Hey KD, you cant go wrong with a press because I am sure you will use it for a bunch of stuff, besides your Mopar front end.
But 20years ago I bought a bunch of Mopar Specific front end tools from PST, or Mancinni Racing.
I not sure the current prices of them, but besides the upper ball joint...
Hey! I wanted to contribute here. I've installed the PST upper arms in my 69 charger, and after about a year of daily driving in Seattle, here's my report:
Short answer:
They're good, they squeak when wet, and you may need to modify the mounting brackets for proper install.
Long answer:
PST...
Started on my Scarebird install. Got everything off, including the drum backing plate and “ping” the car jumped up a few inches. Is there any way to get the lower control arm back up without dropping the torsionbar??? Any ideas would be appreciated, car is stripped so it’s too light to jack.
I bought a pre-bent fuel line for my 1969 Coronet 2-door post car. It shipped with a big U bend about in the center. Seems like the only way is to bend it out mostly straight then insert it at the rear wheel well first and wiggle it into position behind the back seat. Then get under the car...
Add 1" torsionbars and front sway bar to the 383 car. Cosmetically, badges are the only difference after that.
Hemi cars would have a skid plate on the K Frame as well as torque boxes added to the front and rear frame rails where the rails connect to the uni-body. A big chassis stiffener not...
