Or get the headlightrelaykit thu Crackedback and brighten the ones you already have.
Or buy new Halogen headlights and use them with the relaykit.
Here is what halogens look like with the relaykit.
I bought the low and high beams from Walmart.
Hey all. I recently installed a new engine bay and headlight harness in my '66 and several things started behaving better, including the headlight closing circuit. They shut perfectly the moment I connected the battery, which they did not used to do before. Unfortunately, they do not...
It's really simple to adjust your own headlights. Park your car on a level surface with the headlights 25' away from a clean wall. You will need 4 lines on the wall as per my attached drawing: 1. A horizontal line (3) at the height of the centre of the headlights. 2. A centre vertical line (5)...
We don't always drive in just the daylight. Who wants brighter headlights?
A couple years back, I added the headlightrelaykit offered by a fellow FABO/FBBO member. This kit is strongly recommended if you have standard sealed beam headlights but considering the drastic reduction in current...
...boxes. Replaced the entering wiring harness headlight to tail lights. Bunch of other things changed out and replaced. Had Doug’s headers X pipe and TTI exhaust. Replaced all the brake lines, added a headlightrelaykit. The wiring harness is what killed the car and had it parked in the garage.
No worries j-c-c-62.
Once my Runner is finished I can certainly take some photos like you mentioned.
The reason I went with a relaykit was that I had done the same thing on my wife's Mini and it made a world of difference.
On the Mini - the headlight electrical circuit is the same as Mopars -...
Hello,
Can anyone recommend a headlightrelaykit or setup for my 68 coronet? I’m using factory sealed beams and a mostly stock wiring layout. Thanks in advance.
Erik
To the OP, I do have pictures of the actual relaykit - it's in the my projects thread.
Here's the link.
My 1971 Road runner
Near the bottom of the page you will see it along with were I installed it on the car (behind the drivers side headlight housing).
IMO, I have seen many well intentioned pics like above, meant to be informative., but coming up a bit short. First, I believe we all can agree at some point all headlights are working, two, there is no way a screen shot viewed on a computer monitor can indicate intensity, etc of a headlight, and...
Exactly. How many times has this been covered before and I have even posted the draw of the LED lights after I did my research. The world famous headlightrelay is dead unless you just want to run the old school lights.
My '70 Charger posed some troubles when I swapped in the CrackedBack relays and harness.
It had nothing to do with the parts. The '70 models headlight door relay (Maybe others too) seemed to leak a small amount of voltage that didn't play well with the new harness. I had to switch to a Bosch...
ever drive and have like a plastic burning smell ?
My satellite did that. Then I replaced the switch because it was melted along with a headlightrelaykit since then no problem at all
No burning plastic smell. This is the first time in 33 years I've had this problem. It just happened all of a sudden. I'm going to replace the dimmer switch.
