This could be a great application for @Crackedback 's headlightrelaykit. Low power goes through the switch to energize the relays which are under the hood and close to the headlights. FOR SALE - Plug and play - HeadlightRelayKits
Member @Crackedback over on the A-bodies only site sells a headlightrelaykit that does exactly what #41 says above.
Not sure if he posts here as well or not.
I have the chineasium relaykit I got from E-bay on my Runner - works great.
I also installed a relaykit, and felt uncomfortable running such a high current power lead unfused to the front of the likely to be damaged area even in a minor front end fender bender. So I fused it.
Typically, I changed course mid project and converted to lower amperage LEDS. :BangHead:

My 64 Ply Sport Fury was experiencing flickering headlights. The headlights would dim/flicker at an idle (850 rpm). Once the engine came off idle the lights would shine without flickering. Also, the amp gauge would mimic the light flickering.
So, I read and reread a lot of FBBO posts, watched...
Installed the CrackedBack headlightrelaykit. Never really drove it at night so no idea how much better it is, it was more a preventative thing. Also I couldn't get my motion detector driveway light to turn off for a pic.
At some point I'll use the torsion headlight adjusters to aim them lower
Why?? If you are NOT adding any additional accessories, you DO NOT need to change anything. The old expression "IF IT'S NOT BROKEN, IT DOESN’T NEED FIXING" applies, in spite of what "others" think, do,or say. The original ammeter circuit will work just fine, the headlightkitrelay, does...
The headlightrelays I've installed were to make my headlights brighter. Not to fix any issues where my lights go out after 10min. I'd fix the one issue and then get a headlightrelaykit.
Trying to get in touch with the guy selling the headlightrelaykit. I believe his screen name is Crackedback and lives in Southern California. Any help appreciated. His inbox is full.
Thanks!

Yep:
I have Rob's HeadlightRelayKit in my '67 GTX, awesome Headlights now.
Way to go Rob for giving us great quality parts.
If you need lighting or cables, Rob is the man !!
Basic idea of the headlightrelaykit is to provide a higher voltage to the OE incadescent lights for increased brightness.
For me, and my 70RR I upgraded to LED headlights which draw about 70% less current than incadescents..
Just my $0.02...
Have installed many sets of those E-code Hellas. Only way to adjust is the method mentioned already, pull it up to a flat wall, 15-20 feet away on a flat surface. I will bring fender covers or something to hang over and block all but one lamp, adjust one at a time. The low beams have a...
Yep, set up the headlightrelaykit per the instructions which had me come off the alternator stud. My “struggle” with the alternator is that people’s responses were all over the place (ie factory 45amp set up is enough, go with 75, 85, 95 amp, etc). So the 65 amp in my head was a happy medium lol.
