Yes, you can do it. I did it on my '69 Road Runner. I did have pretty much everything out of the dash though. Steering column, gauges, radio and heater. Oh, and definitely the front seat out. I had all of that out anyway, from there, not that difficult.
For sale one 1969 and 1970 4-speed console.... These are original parts, not reproduction.... I would say they are nice driver quality parts.... The plastic console itself has a couple small brakes underneath the glove box door which wouldn't be seen once installed in the car or you could fix...
