Two things, is that a cogged belt? Second, if a belt bottoms out in a pulley groove, it will never stop squealing. A/C belts were solid matched belts. Don't believe they are available any longer.
What a passionate car guy, just like all of us !!
I've used his advice many times for many problems in my car when I first got it years ago.
I fixed it the way Bob told me too, and I'm going to leave it that way now,
because it works, it won't break, and Bob told me to do it that way.

My pride and joy, a 69 coronet R/T car raffle prize, has been dead in the garage for almost 10 months now. Patiently waiting for all the parts she needs to get her back out on the road again. She developed a knock in the bottom end. And when that bottom end starting knockin', I answer. Toasted...

But, once pinned down...
There are 2 sides to a relationship. One of them failed if you ask either one you will get different answers. There are a million single ladies out there that either were the problem or were subjected to the problem. I'm so over it to be honest and I have my mind made up.. Dude is going to have...
I bought a clone of that exact same spread-bore carb spacer on Amazon. It had a rough bead-blasted texture but I fine-sanded and polished it on the surfaces that mattered. I had a 1" spacer already but noticed it was cut straight, and wouldn't mate nicely with my Edelbrock Performer spread-bore...
That sounds like a nice build. That's an easy 1 HP/Cube at the crank. Good numbers. I've got a real nice Weiand I was going to put on my stock Poly but I kitted the carb and it starts and runs so sweet, I'm just going to leave the 2 barrel on it.
