I feel for you. Some days you're the bug, some days you're the windshield. Since it's a 24V, have you upgraded the lift pump from the block mounted one? Are you going the get the injector pump looked at, or do an exchange, while its out?
If my memory is correct, mine were a little short when the suspension was at full droop. I got the stud in the hole, so once I let it down on the wheels, it poked through the rest of the way. From there, put the grommet, washer, nut on then cinched it down. To me, normal stuff. Back ones the...
The immediate bushing issue is fixed. The store I used to work at ordered up a pair of K791's for me. Checked them yesterday with an empty arm and bare shaft, good to go. Should have them back later today from my neighbor. Amazon sent the wrong strut rod to the customers house. They were mis...
I would snug up the 5 nuts first, then go through the bearing adjustment procedure. On the wagon, I ran the adjuster down till it wouldn't move easily, thumped the axle several times with a dead blow hammer while rotating the axle both directions to help seat it, go to the other side and...
Not that I'm aware of. Whichever slot in the big adjuster nut aligns best with the pawl under one of the five nuts. What did you set your endplay to? My 67 FSM said .013-.023". I went with .010 since I put new bearings in. Allowed for a little wear in.
I'm a me too on future engine and budget. Machine work is done. Got new pistons, rings, bearings, freeze plugs, balanced. Just have to generate more funds to assemble.
What side was Jigsaw hit on? Reason I'm asking is that the a-pillar, rocker, floor, rail, roof, b-pillar may have collapsed some with the front end hit. Just subtle enough to make tight gaps on that one side.
For the next time I do front end stuff, I'm having my neighbor take apart one of the old arms from the wagon. That way I'll have a go/no go gauge of sorts. Use the shaft and the inner recess on the bar socket. Might even hunt down a bent arm so I can cut the socket/adjuster unit out to use.
Today I had a setback on the control arms. Looks like I finally got tagged by Moog's poor qc. The shafts slide right into the bushings with no effort. This is a manufacture screwup and not the supplier. Going to try a pair from the store I used to work at and see if those fly. If not, I got a...
Yeah, yours has the subframe like a Camaro. Thats why I was thinking one along that line. Might need to stare at one then look at yours while having a brew or two.
In the late 80's, I did do a dumb maneuver and live to tell about it. I was using my brother's floor jack to let my Duster down after jacking it up. I was only using one half of the handle, so I was kneeling down under the tank. His jack liked to stick, unlike mine which was MIA at the time...
