Advice Appreciated: Before I begin restoring my trunk lid

I had the same issue on my ‘68. Close the lid and listen to the rust cascade down to the drain holes. I went fiberglass and solved a couple hundred hours of labor.

New big money starters worth it?

Mini starter is it; Now which one? I run long tube headers and iron heads which means this is a 4-5 hour repair on my back letting antifreeze down, pulling headers, tight wiring conditions etc.. I started with the 440 Source mini and it made it 3 years, 17,000 miles for reference. Knowing I...

Anyone install a fuel vapor filter on their Charger?

Check the top of the tank at the sending unit gasket. They can weep but not enough to drip as it rides across the seam of the tank. Make sure the (2) vents are not crossed. My aftermarket tank had the positions switched and I hooked up short to short and long to long unknowingly. It would...

    Fan belt rant

Off Amazon. I have run these for a few years now. I bought a few sizes in 1/2” increments originally to get it right. Go as small as possible for the primary install as any of these old belt styles stretch pretty bad with big power. I can’t tell you how pissed off I get to push the go pedal...

    Driveway wheel alignment.

I somehow end up with multiple old license plates. For wobble plates, I grease two together for each front tire and lower it down. Proceed with the rest of the alignment.

    "Kei" Japanese Mini Trucks

In GA, apparently they were legal and then made illegal to tag. My neighbor has one so I inquired. You register an LLC in Montana and they will tag it thru the LLC and you are good to go. He says it is good for everything and fun except interstates; That is a no go. Most are stick shift and...

Has anyone compared the top aluminum radiators for Mopars?

I started with a Champion 26” 3 row and it did not cut it. Wizard 2 row with the 1.25” tubes made the difference. Running fan, clutch, shroud and 2600 cfm of electric pusher fans to help with traffic heat soak and a/c performance.

    Disc brake conversion

Go to DR. Diff. and get the kit that has the internal drum assembly for the emergency brake. You will not have a functioning E brake with the kits that use a mechanical arm on the caliper for the function. I paid the stupid tax on this one so learn from my mistake.

Vapor-Locking... the bane of my existence.

Running a carb and today’s junk gas will require a return line back to the tank with the Wix vapor separating fuel filter. You can buy it or make it but it is a .008” orifice size I believe on the vapor return side. Search my name on the subject as I had pictures and descriptions on a previous...

Old fans before upgrade. These were Summit branded and just did not push any air. Spal model used.

    Smaller diameter water pump pulley

We fought some of this on the ‘68 Coronet. I agree that the 210* is not overheating but these big blocks on today’s gas get really unhappy trying to idle with that heat creep. In Atlanta so stop and go traffic is not avoidable or you would never get to drive. I chased it all and the correct...

WTB 69 B body 2dr front bench seat.

I have a ‘68 Coronet 440 front bench if they are the same. I put buckets in. We were building this thing hot enough that I figured sliding across the bench would hinder the drivers ability. Marietta, GA.

Misspoke, the sourced motors are 5 rpm. They will need the cross hole drilled in the shaft but that is pretty basic.

    Dougs Exhaust Cut Outs

No, my Dougs are the new style and have the metal gears that are the current design. I will say that this is my sons car and no sooner did I install the cutouts that they we put in the open position and there they stayed for at least 4 months of daily driving. I assumed by not exercising the...

    440 Starter Information

TTI headers. They completely basket the starter in. No way to R&R without removing the header at the block and collector. That means you get to clean the exhaust gasket residue at the block and clean all 6 bolts holes that are water jacket wet.
