I got new calipers from rockauto for my 73 when I did a DOT 5 conversion.
They worked just fine (10 years and going) but they did not match. The castings were quite a bit different, although they were the same part number from the same supplier.
They should be pin type.

You just got played by this whole thread and still even see it.
Didn't see it mentioned, but some mini starters are cast with a protrusion near the gear area that makes them not seat fully.
If you locate that and grind it down/off it might work.
The one I had however, would not even seat correctly with that casting as it was.
I could get one mounting point...
