Mine are that way in the green car. McCamis makes that kit and CJ has a version as well. I thought I’d try this one. I still have a long way to go before making a pass in it but yeah, I’m eager lol
We weighed it the other day. The right and left are backwards as we had the scales on the wrong sides. Still no doors, fenders, hood or nose and obviously the driveline and turbos so it’s gonna get a lot heavier.
It has a spring loaded release at the top front and the front bar folds in dropping the net. There’s a handle that clips into the release so it’s easily grabbed with gloves on.
Welded up the Cameron Johnson Race Cars window net kit. This tedious little project took most of the day. I went with a vertical kit and bent the bars so they hold the net out of the way. Now to get a net from Stroud.
Exactly my issue. I need lots of back lighting and even then, they don’t adjust quickly when the arc initiates and don’t seem to want to adjust with changes in distance.
Yes. I have some laser welded chromoly samples. It’s nearly 100% penetration on .083 wall chromoly. The handheld laser torch is very cumbersome to use on tubing. Until they get smaller, like a TIG torch, they’re not practical for cage work. They’re great for nearly everything else that’s thin wall.
I’m not sure how some of these guys do it, but my eyesight is to the point that TIG welding a cage is getting incredibly difficult. I can see good enough to weld at a well lit bench, but when your head is turned sideways between a floor and bars and you’re trying to see out of the corners of...
Nice job on that cage. I see a lot of them done by lazy fabricators and they’re horrible. I like to tuck everything, especially A pillar bars so they don’t block your vision.
