Definitely not bueno. Can the oil pan be removed with the engine in the car??
Edit - looks like so, with patience and a little finageling, if the center link is removed. Any tips on this? I have read a couple older posts on it.
Missile - did the seal pieces plug your oil pick up?
Crap.
Yup. Not always but sometimes. Blue smoke, too. Oil.
Well, winter is upon us so might as well put her to sleep for the season and git er done.
Thanks, everyone,
Mikey
Hello again, happy Sunday.
In changing valve cover gaskets today, I found these two lovely pieces in the front lower portion of the passenger side cylinder head when I remove the valve cover. I cannot see any visible broken pieces so I am assuming they have come from somewhere else? I realize...
Awesome. Fair enough, thanks. MW, if you wouldn't mind asking if he has these available, I'd sure appreciate it. I can PM you on the side, too, if this isn't the right place for that stuff. I wouldn't mind having some extra switches and stuff like that, too.
Thanks,
Mikey
Hi everyone,
Not even sure if this is for a 69 Super Bee but it came in the trunk. It has four screw holes and looks like it might hang something, but I have no idea what it is and where it would go.
Thanks very much, happy Friday.
Mikey.
Well... alrighty then (he says in his Jim Carrey voice).
1st pic is of the old clip. I guess it's raised / convex as it is to provide a slight spring(ish) pressure between the cable end and the firewall grommet. Well... now it just slips out. I just got the darn thing a couple months ago...
Thank you. I am missing the weatherstrip channel chrome pieces. Guess I will have to source them as best I can.
Anybody know what this clip is? I found it sitting on my driver side floor.
Ok, so the pieces I am missing are both "drip rail weatherstrip retainers" - the chrome / stainless guys that run along the top of the doors and back down to the end of the roll up quarter glass and hold the weatherstripping in place. THEN (I think) those big, long metal pieces fit over that to...
Dave!!! Thank you so much. That helps a ton. The cable seemed to be too short to connect to the driver side so I rerouted it to the passenger side. Waiting for the clips to arrive but I think that should do it. As far as routing the cable under the dash and through the firewall, do I just...
Thanks very much, Dave. I think it did. I'm trying to figure out how all this goes back together, being out of the hotrod game for 35+ years. So in order of parts installed, it goes .... roof (rail) foam seal - chrome Roof Rail weatherstrip Channel Chrome Trim part / piece / thingie (which I...
Hi All,
Hoping you can help point me in the right direction as to how the cable routes from the inside of the car to the control lever of the fresh air intake system. My car did not come with a cable (big surprise there) so wondering the proper way to route. And which sided it connects to. I...
Thanks everyone. Does anyone have a picture of how the metal trim (and chrome trim??) above the side glass are installed? I'm looking in the FSM but it's tough to see.
Thanks,
Mikey
Hi all,
Our '69 Bee came with a bunch of small parts and some trim that need to be put back on. Can anyone tell me what these various clips are and where they go? I think the ones in the left row are for the headliner metal trim? If so, could someone maybe post a pic of that piece installed...
