I believe the OP was referring to the rectangular washers that are placed between the mount and the bolt that retains the mount to the extension housing.

If the OEM lube is dried up the wipers had to start seizing up some time. Pull the pivots out and soak them in a penetrant and then install a grease zerk in each one. Better than new!

When I restored my 65 Belvedere box I gently glass beaded the surfaces and then sprayed it with a satin clear. I was pleased with it's appearance.

You may have to buy a second pump to feed the high pressure pump. One of the manufacturers sold a sump system that could be mounted under the hood to do that.
