    Torsion Bars

I put some FF 1.06 bars in my wagon, had those set aside for my 65 but have decided to go bigger. The 72 Challenger I'm currently working on for a customer is getting 1.03 bars bought through BAC and made by Sway Away. The 67 wagon had the .880? bars as it originally came with a 273 but the PO...

    Camshaft selection for Mild 440?

The 440 was under cammed and under headed from the factory, the heads and cam was more suited for the 383.

    Transmission throttle valve adjustment

727 and using a cable system to the carb for TV to transmission. Everything I'm reading speaks to making adjustments with stock TV rods. The way I have it currently adjusted is I've set the maximum TV to be at full throttle. But I'm not sure that is the correct ratio. It's not shifting very...

LCA pivot turning while trying to torque lock nut

Hmm. May have to back the bars out, pull the arms out, pull bushings off the shaft, get something latched onto the shaft to stop rotation, the torque it. Relaod the components. Great question as I have the Delrin units for my 65 and will need to do this in the future too.

    Start circuit question

On the earlier cars, they used two different starter relays....one for manual trans, and one for autos. The difference was the way the relay grounded. With an automatic, it went from a terminal on the relay down to the NSS, which grounded that wire when in Neutral or Park. With a manual trans...

Any benefit to a tubular K-frame that retains T-bars ?

For my 65, I'm using a 70 unit. 3 reasons why I chose that over the 65 one are: double shear mount idler arm[ also easier to source for replacement] as its stronger than the bayonet bolt unit, pass through the frame sway bar mounting, moves the engine back 1.5". I did extensive welding...

    'Yankee' automatic drills??

I think I still might have one. It was my grandfather's. It's still in his homemade wooden toolbox from the thirties. Same vintage as my drill press.

Mancini distributor and MSD 6AL question

I have a 69 GTX that a purchased as an incomplete project. The 440 has been professionally rebuilt by previous owner and remains pretty stock, no performance mods from what I was told. The project came with many parts to complete the car to include a Mancini Pro Billet distributor and an MSD 6AL...

Ball joints screw three, press one?

73 dodge charger, got three of the ball joints out with the super 1 59/64” socket. Then found that the driver side lower ball joint doesn’t take the socket. Looked and it’s a round head. I’m going to assume it’s a press in but… WTF?! I don’t ever remember that there was a mix of socket and...

    Camshaft selection for Mild 440?

If I was building a mild 440 for myself, a 6401 would be in the mix. But for your stated use, I'd choose the 6400. A purple shaft hydraulic would be in the mix too, except for the INSANE money being charged for them now. But I haven't built a "mild" engine in a lot of years. (440s with purple...
