I agree. A cantilevered tie rod connection was a crutch to make it fit and have less bump steer but it just looks like a huge compromise.

I suppose you could but it would take some work to rewire all the connections to use one of those relays like Furds use, and still have the reliability issue with those too.

Interesting, my 73 and my 71 and 72 parts cars don't have anything sewn together. All completely separate parts, stacked at the floor pan bolt if two are there.
