That is sad news, Jim was a wealth of information on the first Gen Charger and a more sincere and enthusiastic member of our hobby than I have ever met. I feel fortunate to have known him and toured his collection of parts and cars. God rest your soul Jim, you will be missed.
It sure sounds like a converter bolt or balance weight interference with a dust shield, that or loose converter bolts. I have seen instances where too long of a converter bolt would bottom out and the bolts would rattle against the flex plate even though they were "tight"
Some of my favorite cars of that era were low miles, factory small block 2bbl automatics, left bone stock.
