A few years ago, I was called on to verify a 1966 Belvedere II HP2 hardtop. The car was a November, 1965 build, and sported the HP2 fender signs. Although now painted bright red, the fender plate revealed the car was painted Mauve by the factory. I was surprised to find the Belvedere II side trim to be all chromed die cast pieces, instead of the expected anodized aluminium or stainless steel. Has anyone else run into this?
