I modified a later 1970 727 linkage operated trans to work with a 1964 cable operated console shifter. Reason I did it was because that shifter had the nicest action/feel of any shifter I have used. Like a knife through butter....
Just got word that my truck and driver just arrived to the Marshaling yard and will be off loading in the am. Said there are quite a few there already. I wonder how many from b bodies only are there?
Ok so now I’m a little confused…. I m pretty sure the build sheet says it had the N96 package. I’ll double check but if it did, maybe someone replaced the switch??? I can post a pic of the build sheet if it helps.

My advice is to take DVW’s advice.
Given a Mopar B-Bodies construction, Removing the inner fenders is a lot of work with lots of down sides and very little if any upsides.
I’m looking for a nice or nice restorable 3 speed wiper motor. My car date code is 12-4-67, so a few months before that date will work fine. Part number is 2889981.

Anyone can do a nice job. Just depends if you want to take the time. My cage took a while. But I was told if if was going to be tigged to fit the tubes tight. So tight it was. Doug

honestly I didn’t measure it, I took it to my friend, Ted at Opel engineering and he set it up on his mill and bored it for me. He did say the original bore was not very round, it is now…. As for machining the bearing retainer...
I agree with others in that when building a race motor with a stock block, there’s no guarantees. Some will let go quickly at 550 hp & 6000 rpm. Others will survive for years at 700 hp & 7000 rpm. Build and parts quality obviously has a lot to do with it. Tune up quality probably has more...
