Used to lube them with wheel bearing grease, but you could really use any grease. If you end up with a new cable, lube it!

Peppermint or Spearmint extract mixed with water in a spray bottle. Spray it around entrances, around the vehicles. Place a few drops in a safe container and have it in the car. Smells good and mice hate it. Works great for deterring spiders too.

Yep. Or if there’s nothing behind the torsion bar (like a welded in crossmember) you can keep going right out the rear. Mine has a crossmember added but the torsion bars will slip past underneath.

If you are looking down underneath the top plate at that bracket and are wondering what those holes are for that are in the front bracket welded to the tunnel? There should be a fiberglass composite piece going from one side to the other of the console that is the front hold down for the console...
