Mouse proofing for winter storage? There's not a lot of mice here but...

...something that's not terribly stinky. We also get a lot of Garter snakes in the spring, although their population is going down. Brandma at 95 is a vicious snake killer.
 
I got about 4 of these in the shop. Get a mouse about every 3 weeks before they get near the cars.

I put them in view so I can " Check the trap line" daily. Load them with peanut butter,

Peppermint or Spearmint extract mixed with water in a spray bottle. Spray it around entrances, around the vehicles. Place a few drops in a safe container and have it in the car. Smells good and mice hate it. Works great for deterring spiders too.
 
I put an extra cedar 2x4 piece from a swing set in my car and no mice since.
No idea why it works.

Used up plastic peanut butter jars, put sticky traps inside, have to fold to get in.
Remnants of pb is enough to attract, sticky trap can't be pulled out, when caught toss.
