Bought this in July of this year from original owner and pulled this 79 from a garage where I learned it had been buried for 25 plus years, it’s now road worthy, will continue to work on it this winter.

I doubt that the shaft is supposed to be 1.057. Probably got polished down by someone already.
I have used a Ready Sleeve on these before, but it’s been years ago. The standard size one might fit, but with sealer on it. Or green lock-tite. I would try looking in the seal company catalogs.

Yes I learned this last week about these buttons and pin constructions, and their purpose. Since only one button came out, and the other one is nowhere to be seen, it might be somewhere in the housing. And the diff will have to be pulled out anyway, before that button will cause damage.
