Break in oil for new 440

I would just use a 30W Valvoline VR1 conventional oil. I use Valvoline VR1 in all my engines and I've never had any issues. Plus, VR1 is easy to find and relatively inexpensive as oils go. Tom

Break in oil for new 440

A while back I contacted the Penrite oil tech line. The guy I spoke to seemed pretty knowledgeable so I guess the info will be good. Penrite recommend a specific run in oil for 100 miles and to stay in for no more than 500 miles. Some varying load must be used. At this point change to a mineral...

Post up facts and things that hardly anyone knows...... (for entertainment purposes only. NO need to fact check)

One of the most intricately carved pieces of marble is the statue "The Release From Deception" by the Italian sculptor Francesco Queirolo who finished it in 1759 after seven years of work. Everything you see, including every bit of rope on the netting, was carved from a single solid block of...

how critical is installed valve spring height?

Those high spring loads are a flat cam waiting to happen! Running a dirt track car? OK.... lots of oil splash to keep things lubed. Street car? No... I ran 160/335 on my race motors but not on the street unless you regularly run 7k driving to Dairy Queen

Is it just me or do led work lights suck?

Yep....LED lighting sucks. I'm not getting half the work I used to for doing repairs on lighting. You get what you pay for and unfortunately a lot of people buy the cheapest lighting...... not always fit for purpose.

Body Fender Mounted Turn Signal Indicators

Needs a good ground to the fender, the lower bracket has some teeth designed to dig through the paint and undercoating on the underside of the fender panel. I will add a separate ground wire using a ring terminal under the mounting stud nut to insure a good ground to the lamp housing.

    The jeep wins, for now...

I bought a 1984 CJ7 for a daily driver. A leaky brake cylinder led to replacing pads, shoes, drums, lines, rotors, everything but the junction blocks. Last night I got down to the spindles and they are chewed to ****! So, no work on the GTX lately.
