My wife's 2012 charger has the battery in the truck and the cable that runs to the firewall has "welding wire" and "EPDM" on printed on the insulation.
I agree with gkent that heat rating is a bigger concern to the application, inside the cabin - not to worried, engine bay/exterior - I watch...
I had to use this type caulk in new construction. It will fill a large gap and I believe it will work for you. Building/fire codes can be pretty tough so I think you can trust this product.
Maybe a ejection seat triggered by a heat/ flame sensor would be more exciting. Especially in a hardtop!

Well over 40 years in the discipline as well - all that experience and expertise is now null and void.
My take on a stand. Added front and rear supports to hold a bare K frame, and support the engine with no transmission. (The box tube at the back is a short center spine to swap in for storage, makes the stand 2’ deep to take up less space)
