    I think you are concerned about the "star head". It is actually a 12 point bolt they work great and work perfectly with a 12 point socket. I bet you already have the socket. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

    According to the older gentleman I spoke to the number that’s on my rmvb is rare, just typing what I was told. I do plan on taking this trans apart for a rebuild. It will be my first. I have a great book and plenty of videos to guide me. I will be taking the RMVB off to examine the top of it.

    Not sure how much this helps. I'll try to get more info on the engine. If I'm correct pre 72 440s had more horsepower than the latter ones because of the fuel crisis.

    Joe Suchy has it. Comes in a roll and has to be cut to size. I used plywood strips to simulate the glass for gluing. Don't get crazy with the amount of glue. Mike
