    Rear tire size

    Agree. It's likely not rubbing the spring. My slicks are within 3/8" to the spring, and don't rub. But my car doesn't handle for ship, so it's not likely to rub on the inner fender either.

    What do you mean machine for clearance? That looks like a normal High compression race piston. So yes probably a motor that was raced.
