You still should check that rear end and its ratio. I do not recall a 3.7 ratio from the factory. Knowing the correct ratio may help on your overall plan.

Better recheck that axle ratio.

My Miller tool which is the factory driver has no tabs to fit a notch. Maybe an aftermarket driver has tangs to fit a notch. If your housing has no provisions for a notch drive it in.

Thats why I posted what the FSM said. They make no mention of the notches because as I remember there were none. The original number was 2801724. These bushings are aftermarket and maybe another application requires the notches. So it most likely does not matter.

That style is made for adjustment which requires you to degree the cam. You should of ordered one that is designed for the straight up install. With all the garbage on the market I trust none and degree every one.

Big blocks also had lower block ears so more of the bell was used to hold the transmission. Just look at the shield size small block to big block. I would rather be safe than sorry.

I would make it fit. They put them there for a reason.

About the simplest thing you can do is go through the torque sequence. I would loosen each bolt and torque each one in sequence.

If its out then its a no brainer. Get it out even if you have to remove more plugs.

How much lift on the cam? I ran Ross 12.5 pistons with a 6.20 lift with lots of clearance.

You will be fine with the 8519PT1. It is designed for a larger bore but will still work fine on a smaller bore.

.001 is a mute issue. Myself I would just go with a single gasket.

Where are the pistons in relation to the deck? Somebody shimmed that block for a reason.
