Motor is @ TDC.. Balancer shows @ 45 degrees BTDC

Are you checking the correct piston ?? right front looking at the front. Also keep in mind that both valves close on the compression stroke well before TDC so you'd have a tough time holding all that compression with your thumb right to TDC !!

    Holley sniper timing question

That's pretty close to ideal. However, its not WOT you should be concerned with, its getting your "total" in by 2000 RPM Are you using the Sniper to control timing or the distributor ??

    Holley sniper timing question

Why should it be any different than timing a carb'd engine ! 12* initial, 38* total - all in by 2000 rpm. Adjust as necessary

    Modified crank

Quite often those rod throws have a big hole bored through to remove weight. This one was done by grinding. My guess is it didn't need as much taken off as the hole would have removed. And whoever did it knew enough not to cut into the sides of the journals. AND it rteally doesn't look like they...

Does anyone know what the factory pinion angle is for a 71 Charger R/T Dana 60?

I just went through this. Whoever is buiding the Dana - as long as they're a reputable source - will know what the correct angle is. Also, don't forget about the pinion offset !!

    Help with pinion angle

According to the Mopar Chassis book, on a street car with standard leaf springs you want 5 to 7 degrees of "nose down" at the pinion. NOTE that this is NOT the pinion angle relative to the level ground but rather the difference between the driveshaft angle relative to the level ground minus the...

    Help with pinion angle

Crank pulley - insignificant. You're missing some important angles. See below "According to Currie, the average car crafter should strive for between 1 and 3 degrees between the tailshaft of the transmission and driveshaft, and 1 to 3 degrees between the driveshaft and pinion. Furthermore, the...

    DOHC 426 Hemi

Well you answered your own question ... "expensive" !! Besides, Ford did it. And these days, everything gets an LS !!!

    DOHC 426 Hemi

They "apparently" used an electic motor to show it "running" at some point for Nascar officials. Being a "one-off" motor with no intent of production, it probably didn't have any internals, just enough stuff to look legit and convincing.
