The dark colored one is for the starter solenoid. So the starter end the dark wire goes to the solenoid, the opposite end connects to the "square" terminal on the start relay.
Some cars, the main cable goes from battery to starter relay stud, then a separate ring - to -...
PHOTO? My diagram doesn't show such a thing, and I'm not a "resto correct" guy. The wiring diagram shows main cable from battery goes directly to starter. A second wire is shown (no 10) from battery to starter relay stud
Another wire "brown" no 12 goes from the...
According to the 1970 Plymouth factory service manual (page 0-4) six quarts plus one in the filter
This also fits my dimming recollection of my old 70 V code
426, 440 had 7 qt systems, all others were 5 qt including filter
You can download free shop manuals at...
The only thing that should be hooked to coil NEG is the distributor primary wire, and a tach wire if you have one of those.
What you LIKELY have there is the radio noise suppression condenser / capacitor, and it should be on the POSitive coil
This COULD be causing the points to...
Well this DOES remind me of an "old story."
In my Navy days I had who would become a good friend in San Diego. This was 70--71, I had my 69 383 RR, and he had a new Chev 3/4T 4x4. Somehow we both got the bright idea to go down and buy white cue balls, drill and tap...
OK, try to follow this LMAO. Thanks to a few of us over at FABO, MyMopar ended up with a 73 shop manual. So if you do not HAVE one, wander over there and download it........free.......

The point is you do not HAVE to bypass the resistor. The thing is, depending on car and year, there is more than "one or two" wires "at the resistor. You must either jumper ALL of them or else just use the original coil + wire.
There is no "one wire" out of the bulkhead. The...
Fix "what is there??"
I was going to go "a simple route" in my Dart which was not AC originally therefore difficult to install "factory." I was PLANNING on buying an underhood compressor package, make what I needed, and buy a "knee knocker" evap unit of efray
Then I...
Detail "what else" you have hooked up?
Big Red, Big Black go to constant power and ground
Small red is 'switched ignition." Basically you either do or don't bypass the resistor, does not matter. Use your old coil + wire hook that to the "small red."
What...
Google it. There's info and videos all over.
Ignore the talk about Tremec, this is important for ANY gearbox

The thing I do not like about mechanical pumps is "this day and age" of alcoholized fuel, which is MUCH more prone to boiling and vapor lock problems. A properly set up REAR pump, which pressurizes the entire system, is much more effective.
Also effective is the 440/ 426...
Has this engine "been" a "stickshift" engine, IE measure the pilot bearing hole in the crank.
I used to put the fork in after the trans went in
If you are using a "bushing" pilot put a small dab of lube in there. I used to put the gearbox into reverse and whatever...
Just to correct a minor point, it's the BLACK ammeter wire that branches off to feed accessories and the headlights.
If you do NOT have a shop manual or wiring diagram, go to MyMopar where you can download them free

GOOD FOR MN, but.............
What I don't get is why we need a law to "allow" Constitutional carry. Frankly though, I would MUCH rather not advertise to a would be criminal that I'm armed. I will continue to cower in the dark corner, my weapon hidden LOL...
IMPORTANT CAVEAT!!!!!!!
Some "Bosch" style relays come with an internal diode across the coil. THERE DOES NOT seem to be hard and fast standardization for these, meaning, some can be reversed compared to others. If you wire one of these with the wrong coil terminal GROUNDED...
I believe you have multiple problems Does this car have two PC boards on the cluster?
This I believe gets right back to cluster maintenance
Again, make certain you have a cluster ground wire, which must be added
Check and refurbish the PC board connector pins.
Check and retighten...
One problem I've seen is with starter drives (bendix) I don't know if the rebuilders are using cardboard parts or WTF. But a GOOD Dakota / RAM starter, yes. Any Dodge (probably not Jeep) V6 or V8 Magnum in the 90's There are different manufacturers and minor...
