What's the recommendation on using polyurethane bushings at the rear leaf springs? In the front, I'm planning only to place poly on the UCA and (anti) swaw bar bushings.
I'm learning these bushings are not ideal to use everywhere. I'm doing some rear...
NOS parts often have a premium price tag. If you’re a seller of parts, being able to sell the part as NOS affords you a higher selling price.
But just because someone claims a part is NOS, or the new-looking part comes with a vintage box/container, doesn’t make it an NOS part.
Sadly, on more...
I'm looking for the OEM screws and boot retainer (similar to image) for the Bendix Drum Master Cylinder casting #2660809. A reproduction may work, if it looks similar look to the OEM stamped version.
What's this counter weight all about on this rear drum? It seems like a sizable weight just to balance the drum as the drum seems so symmetrical.
Does it balance anything with the 8-3/4 rear end? I find that hard to believe, because if so, it could be put back on in the wrong orientation and...
Looking for lost engine block, VIN ending 0E132617. A 1970 HP engine block with a hole in the side from a broken connecting rod. Lost sometime in the late 1980s to early 1990s.
The vehicle I'm working is an original 1970 B-body car, with 440-4 HP engine and dual snorkel air cleaner.
Often, when the car I'm working is missing original parts, and I need to figure out what "factory original" looks like, I look to a another example vehicle and go to the parts book. In...
Maybe I'm a purest, or perhaps just lazy. Better yet, efficient. But I want to keep the four-wheel manual drum brake (11-inch front, 10-inch rear) setup on my car, and I'm looking for recommendations to get the best stopping power I can.
The only issue I seem to ever have with my (pretty sure...
I'm looking for an automatic 727 transmission oil dipstick for a 1970 big block survivor car. I got the tube, I just need the dipstick. But I'll buy the set, if needs be.
I'm hoping one of you has an extra laying about their shop.
Many thanks.
I'm looking for a transmission oil dipstick for a 1970-440 car. I got the tube, I just need the dipstick. I'd prefer something that looks OEM over a chromed one. But I guess I cannot be too choosey. I will likely need it shipped to 95401 Santa Rosa, CA.
Thanks in advance.
I’m looking for a dipstick to fit the tube of a 727 automatic transmission Big Block setup. I’ll buy the tube if needs be. It can be beat up, it’s for a driver.
My son rebuilt his first A727 transmission last week. I've done 5-6 of these over the last decade or so. He's watched and assisted on the last few. He wanted to do this one for his own car by himself, and although I was salivating to help, I backed away and gave him the freedom, tools and...
I've been looking for a replacement set of these, off and on for many months, now. His website has not been working for some time. I renew my efforts whenever I go to reach for these and they're not there. If anyone has extra copies they're willing to sell, give me a shout.
Can the rubber gasket on the oil filler cap be replaced? Anyone know a source for these?
The rubber gasket on my oil filler cap leaks and I'm often wiping up grime that accumulates around the filler hole. Inspection of the gasket showed it was somewhat hard, but I didn't realize it was so...
I've officially lost one of the fender tag screws from my car. A local car club buddy has some, and wants a great deal of money for them. He seems to think they're some kind of super rare item. What makes these so special?
Does anyone have one for sale? I'm willing to buy a matched pair...
I'm looking for the throttle cable bracket for the 440 4bbl PN 2780876. I believe it looks like the one pictured and came on 440-4 cars between 1967-1970. I'd prefer an OEM survivor one over a shiny new repop.
Can anyone tell me where and if the rubber boot (or grommet) on the throttle cable can be purchased? My cable had this boot, but it was in pieces and discarded. I went looking for the part, and I found an image from the engine bay side but no luck finding the boot.
