I've been researching this issue and I've come across conflicting info. Do the 1970 Charger sidemarkers flash when signalling left/right? My sidemarkers are all working when park lights or headlights are on, but don't blink, no matter what I've tried.
Background: I installed all LED bulbs in my...
I've had this thing in the second-from-far-right 20A fuse socket (taillights/cigarette lighter) for as long as I can remember, it was there when I bought the car. Why would someone install this instead of an ordinary 20A fuse?
Looking at various pics of the late 60's/early 70's Mopars, it occurred to me how many designs were based off of a single horizontal body line...and yet, Dodge/Plymouth achieved such beautiful car body designs originating from that very simple line. The Challengers and 3rd-gen Chargers diverged...
I let my original disk brake positioners soak in Evaporust then wire-brushed them mostly clean. I see the FSM recommends replacing these with a brake job, but they're not included in the hardware kit and I could not find them anywhere on RockAuto. Who has a source for these, and might my...
As usual, Grendel wants to frustrate me with the most basic tasks. Trying to install new front rotors on my '70 Charger. The rotors have new Timken bearings and races installed. The passenger side slips right on all the way with no problem. But the driver side gets stuck with a good inch of...
Guys, I need to connect a few spade connectors to the back of my fuse block for a tach and voltmeter to come on when key is "on", but not to "start". I tried searching for the relevant blue IGN 1 wire under the dash but the wire schematic diagram has me confused and I couldn't find a wire I...
Since I have my instrument panel out and having read hours of threads on ammeter gauge bypasses, and seeing as my car's wiring is all fortunately intact and not full of scorchies and melties, I want to do what I can to reduce a future fire risk. I already have the battery terminal disconnect...
I have my instrument panel out, it's fixed and cleaned up/restored as good as possible. While it was out, I had a good look at the wiring under the dash, and spent a good couple hours following FSM info and a color wiring schematic I had to identify any potential wire issues. There are some...
I was restoring my map light assembly and while trying to disconnect the ground wire, the switch circuit board completely disintegrated. My assembly (chrome housing, lens, harness, wires) is in great condition but if anybody has a spare switch mechanism, that would be great.
This could be posted in either "Interior" or "Electrical", my apologies if it's posted incorrectly. I want to detach the clump of wires on the interior where they attach to the firewall so I can remove my instrument panel ('70 Charger). I see no screws, on either inside or engine-side. On the...
I'm going to see how much I can improve my original white '70 Charger upper door pads. Before I re-dye them black, please share your ideas on filling some of the bigger cracks in the vinyl. Thanks!
I'm wondering how to finagle my repro cardboard glovebox liner into my Charger--without damaging it. I can get the left-side flap over the fuse block and get it jammed in about halfway but it's fighting me all the way just to get to that point and starting to bend & deform. Got any tips? Slide...
Looking for a single driver side armrest pad in black for a 1970 Charger. Somehow I have 2 passenger side ones in very good condition, and a driver side pad that's smooth and lacks the perimeter stitching. I also have 2 decent spare rear armrest pads. Also have a nice chrome console rear plate...
I got some polyethylene sheet drawn up and cut out for the front door water shields, those went in fairly easily. The old glue lines showed me where to apply the fresh butyl tape, pasted the sheet on and tucked it in at the bottom groove.
However, the area below the quarter windows under the...
I finished installing new carpets in my '70 Charger, then reconnected all the wires at the driver side kick panel. Everything matched up except for this odd connector. I could not find it's mate anywhere. This is coming down from above, not from the rear of the car under the wire cover. What is...
I found this laying on the ground under the car yesterday. I believe it's to secure one of the shift linkage parts. I'm guessing the vertical rod to the left of the shifter assembly that goes through the floor to the transmission? I'd already used cotter pins to secure the linkages.
I was restoring my decades-old seatbelts, they turned out quite nicely with a good scrubbing with Dawn dish soap and hot water, but unfortunately one of the rubber boots covering the mounting tabs was ripped. Anybody have a spare please?
Grendel thanks you!
While installing new carpets in my '70 Charger, I discovered the little black roller wheel that's supposed to be fitted to the pedal linkage, under the accelerator pedal, was completely missing. My body man must've lost it when he removed the pedal when welding in the new floor pans. Does anyone...
Over a decade ago, I was talking to a coworker in his office and noticed this shifter sitting on his table, that I recognized immediately. This guy had a 30-something hot rod so I asked him what the shifter was for, because it was similar to the one in my '70 Charger. He said a friend gave it to...
I have most of my Kilmat deadener installed and will soon be putting in the new carpets. Quick question: As the rear carpet goes in first, where exactly should I position it before the front carpet goes in? A few pics of the correct position would be great, and show the correct amount of overlap...
