Thanks. I really hate the idea of any water getting in there even with the drain slots. That is such a blatantly big gap too. Bad design or some other purpose??
Bought some new window felts/sweeps and after installing one side, notice about a 1/4" gap at the end. Figuring these new ones were just wrong, I go to the other side to look at what I assume are the originals still installed and they are leaving a gap at the end too, and there is also a gap...
Did anyone have to trim the two longer angled pieces when installing? Mine seem too long and hits the mounting tab on the side where the lower, angle corner piece screws in. I never had this trim on the car so have no reference. Seems to me it needs to have 1/2 trimmed off the length to...
GM part!?!? What the....?!!!?!!? just kidding. Previous owner was getting creative I guess. Appreciate the info. Seems like an easy bleed. Crossing my fingers this takes care of it .
If this doesn't do it I'll try the full rebleed again before I start throwing tools.
Tried to bleed the brakes again today but they are still spongy. A few micro bubbles came through but nothing significant. Did not mess with the master yet. Question, I have bleeders on my master cylinder, can you just run a hose from those bleeders into the reservoir and bleed like the...
Thanks! Was worried I may have trapped air in there or something. Thought I got all the air out today but going to go at it again tomorrow to be sure. I'll try to block the ports on the MC if rebleeding doesn't fix it. Def need to get one of those one man bleeders. Need to just buy...
After replacing a collapsed brake hose in the back, I decided to flush the system and had the wife pressing on the pedal as I opened and closed the bleeders. Was running back and forth to keep the MC full but on one attempt(doing rear driver side), I heard it suck a little air as she let off...
Just to give a conclusion to this, it was the the rear differential carrier. You have to remove it to open it up and Cadillac does not sell any internal parts (you are forced to by the whole carrier) so did not go any further diagnosing exactly what went wrong in there. Have not opened it up...
Been on a few Cadillac sites(including cadillacforums). Get the impression that most people don't work on their own Cadillacs much b/c the forums out there are like ghost towns in the maint. areas.
Just got back from the dealership and picked up the specific GM fluids just to be sure. Put...
Hope it's ok but this is pertaining to a Cadillac awd and why I am posting in the general area. I think the problem should be generic to a general awd drivetrain. Admin, if this is not ok, let me know and I will delete the post.
Just started noticing a whooshing/whirring noise coming from...
It did not smell like anything specific that I can isolate with. Can't say I've smelt burning brake fluid before though.
I didn't notice it before but it looks like it may be seeping a little bit of grease at the bottom of the mounting plate. Compared it to the other side and it is dry...
Master is not down and don't see any leaks around the cylinder. Would a leaking wheel cylinder make it heat up?
Thanks for the tips on getting the axle off.
I need some help diagnosing a problem.
Took the car out last week and was getting smoke rolling out from the back passenger tire around the drum when I got home. Pulled the tire and drum, and the brakes are not dragging and I see no fluid leaks. Turned the hub in neutral and not hearing...
Mice are a pain in the butt over winter. You said the issue just popped up.... Maybe one got into yours somewhere while storing. Nest, chewed wires... They will crawl up the tail pipe too and nest
