It sounds like the classic Piss poor ground at the ECU to me. If you have a digital ohm meter, test between neg post on the battery and ECU case. I'm betting you get a high reading. Anything much over .5 ohm will cause the issues you are dealing with. Sitting alongside the road with a...
The only parts available for your Prop valve are the three kits marked with a red dot.

When you put the shuttle valve back in, make sure the recessed area lines up with the switch prong or the light will not clear.
The piston you are referring to is called a shuttle valve. You can push it out from the end with a long small punch. Here is a picture of it. Also a video of how to rebuild it. It takes 3 kits for all that is available for them. I have rebuilt a couple of them.
Serpentine set-up is quieter and prettier. It is only an upgrade if you can find pulleys akin to the factory set-up. I made the mistake of getting an underdrive set-up that saved horsepower but slowed down everything causing issues with overheating, the alternator discharging at idle...
I've had an idler pulley bearing squeal like a belt slipping. Are you sure that is not the problem. It looks like you are back to square one. Drop one belt off at a time until you find the culprit.
I too have broken one or two of those extractors. Whether you weld a nut on or use another method, Heat and some crayon wax are gonna be your friend here.
Reminds me of 1980 when I got stopped in that area because of a snow storm. The guy looked at my plates and said, "Oh, you are from Wisconsin, you can go." I was happy to hear that since I didn't have any chains.
They were much more dependable 20 years ago than they are now. I have zero faith in them these days except in knowing their fees will go up again soon. Just when I think I have seen it all, up comes another unbelievable scenario.
I recognize that interior. Same as the Bee I had in 69. The only pic's I have of it were from a shitty instamatic camera back then. I'm proud of you for making the purchase and the trip. I would have done the same as you. Hope you had a great trip and good luck with your Bee. My car had 3.55...
Back when I was a kid with my first car, I had a 57 Ford Convertible. That car always got me where I wanted to go and half way home. Thank God those days are gone. I can't say I have driven any of my classic cars across country but wouldn't hesitate if the need arose. I have taken them from...
I too have an in tank fuel pump. You said you have no return and the return tube is capped. I'm wondering about that scenario. Mine has the 3/8" out and 5/16" with a regulator to tone down the pressure to 58 psi. My set-up required the return from the regulator back to the tank. I don't recall...
I'm betting on a leak somewhere else. They can be hard to find sometimes. I found mine by accident after months of fuel odor. My leak was at the fuel pump connection but would only leak at higher RPMs. Could never get it to leak at idle.
USPS works the same way. I got dinged for extra postage when I claimed the box was 12" when it was actually 12 1/8". Now, if it is over, I round it up to the next inch so I don't have to get dinged for it. Same goes for weight. If it weighs 2 lbs 12 oz, I round it up to 3 lbs. I usually use USPS...
With a larger orifice in the return, there is concern of starving the engine by sending too much fuel back to the tank. I have no idea why someone would require a 3/8" return. Mopar design engineers installed the 1/4" return like you have for the very reason of minimizing vapor lock. You should...
I noticed some spots like you described on the seats of my Charger this year. I used Mothers vinyl cleaner on them and they cleaned up nicely. My upholstery shop owner told me years ago to never use Armor All on anything because it tends to dry vinyl products out when the sun bakes on it so I...
As our speedometers age, the head get dried out causing the needle to jump around and get noisy. Most times all they need is a drop or two of this or some type of clock oil. My 65 Sport Fury speedo was noisy and bouncing around between 40 & 60 mph a few years ago. Two drops of this and it is...
