Lol, I just saw this thread and was going to dig out my notes from years ago. You saved me some time.

I use large headed aluminum pop rivets when reinstalling thise shields. No problem reusing them.

Actually not at the other end of the phone ever since Covid. He made the decision to abort the telephone and primarily communicate by email. He has texted me at times though as well.
